![]() ![]() ![]() The cancelled BattleBots game is not the only robot combat video game to feature a rail-themed fictional arena based in New York, as Robot Wars: Extreme Destruction for PC and Xbox features the New York Subway as a playable arena. ![]() The hazards also had a fair share of changes, with the pulverizers being operated by the competitors, the hellraisers and killsaws. The arena is located in one of the larger rooms of the building, with tall walls and windows surrounding the battle zone to reflect the real-life location. The BattleBots arena was much smaller than the one used in the Comedy Central era, instead looking somewhat similar in size and design to the one used to host the annual BattleBots IQ tournaments in years past. In the surrounding area, a player can see escalators leading up to the next floor of the terminal, as well as screens presumably listing train arrival and depature times. Information on the Grand Central Terminal arena is scarce, though from the information available, the arena appears largely similar to other variations of the classic BattleBox, with the BattleBots logo adorning the middle of the arena floor. As well as being a functional train station with its 44 platforms, Grand Central Terminal is also a popular tourist destination, attracting over 20 million visitors in 2018. It is officially the second busiest train station in North America, after New York Penn Station. It was constructed over a ten year period which commenced in 1903, and the terminal opened in February 1913. The arena is based on Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan, New York City. ![]()
